Max David Zimmerman

Max Zimmerman age 81, of Quincy, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the Community Health Center in Coldwater, Michigan. He was born in Flint, Michigan and resided there until 1944, when his family moved to Quincy to publish the Quincy Herald, a weekly newspaper.
He was a graduate of Quincy High School and a graduate of Hillsdale College. During high school, he attained the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scout Troop 66 in Quincy. He served four years in the United States Air Force and was a Veteran of the Korean War, stationed in Nome and Fairbanks Alaska.
Max worked for several years in marketing and management in the material handling of the Jervis B. Webb Company in Detroit and in the machine tool industries in Michigan and California. Upon retirement, he and his wife returned to Marble Lake, where for several years he enjoyed life, fishing, and hunting. He worked for eight years as a part-time greeter at Meijer's Store in Coldwater.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Liz), daughter Kay Zimmerman of Austin, Texas; a brother, Thomas of Ypsilanti; two stepdaughters, Sandra Kasper of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Pamela Martin of Palos Verdes Estates, California.
A gathering for family and friends will be held at the Union Church Fellowship Hall, Quincy, Michigan on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 2-4 pm. A private ceremony for family will be held at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the Union Church.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel, Quincy.
