Victor L. Welch

June 6, 1934 - April 22, 2012

Victor L. Welch, 77, of Allen, passed away Sunday (4-22-2012) at home. He was born June 6, 1934, in Hillsdale County to Olin E. & Fern V. (Burlew) Welch. He served in the U. S. Army and was employed at Welch Auto Parts in Allen. He was a member of the Allen Fire Department for 17 years, a member of the Quincy American Legion and enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, and hunting.

OnApril 2, 1960, he married Evelyn (Johns) Welch and she survives. Also surviving, six sisters, Virginia (George) Pope of Coldwater, Virgel Thatcher of Coldwater, Violet (Chester) Sheren of Honduras, Velma Ward of Coldwater, Veda (Don) Lothamer of Hillsdale, and Victoria Welch of Allen; two brothers, Vern and Versal Welch, both of Allen; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son (Myron), three sisters (Vivian DeVolder, Vera Taylor & Viola Wickman), and one brother (Verlin Dean Welch).

Graveside services will be held Thursday, 11:00 AM at South Allen Cemetery with Preacher Mike A. Roberts officiating. Visitation is scheduled Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel, Quincy. Memorials are suggested to the Allen Fire Department or the Reading Emergency Unit.
