Dorotha R. Biddle

Dorotha R. Biddle, 97, of Litchfield, passed away Friday, June 22, 2012, at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. She was born January 24, 1915 in Amboy Township, MI to Jesse and Mae (Whisler) Lonabarger and graduated from Hillsdale High School. In 1935 she married Richard C. Biddle and he preceded her in death in 1969. In their early years together, Dorotha and Richard drove a semi truck and operated a moving company called Biddle Transfer. Later, Dorotha became the switchboard operator at Simpson Industries in Litchfield, retiring in 1982 after 12 years of service.
As an accomplished golfer for 50 years, Dorotha won several league championships and was proud to have scored a hole-in-one. She also enjoyed playing cards and traveling.

Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie Biddle of Hillsdale; son-in-law, Clinton “Denny” Wentz of Litchfield; and grandson, Nicholas Wentz of Litchfield. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Wentz in 2010.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 25, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel, Litchfield, with interment following in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled Sunday from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
