Joyce Ann Kerr

May 16, 1932 - July 12, 2012

Joyce Ann Kerr, 80 of Hudson, Michigan passed away, Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Bixby Medical Center in Adrian, Michigan. She was born May 16, 1932, in Hudson, Michigan the daughter of Ellis and Geraldine (Treat) O'Bryant. She married Donald L. Kerr on September 13, 1953, in Hudson, Michigan and he survives.

Joyce graduated from Hudson High School Class of 1952 and retired from Hudson Area Schools in 1988, with over 26 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hudson, Lincoln Mother's Club, Hitch Up & Go Travel Club and Traveliers Singing Group of Sarasota Bay R.V. Park. She enjoyed attending Hudson athletic events, collecting bears and dolls and working in her flower garden. Joyce dearly loved her children, grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all.

Surviving Joyce besides her husband Don of Hudson, Michigan are two daughters, Brenda (Tom) Brunet of Wyoming, Michigan Tammy Acker of Jackson, Michigan; one sister, Sandie Holbrook of Hudson, Michigan; eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services for Joyce will be Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor John Rath officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Hudson. Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may make memorial contributions to First Baptist Church.

My mother, Charlotte Smith, of Ocala, Florida, has asked me to pass along her sympathy for Joyce's family in this time of sadness. My mother knew Joyce for many years when they both were employees of Hudson Schools. She spoke of Joyce with fondness. Don Smith, Gainesville, FL

I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. My Mom passed last November and it is never easy, but may you and yours find comfort knowing she is at rest.
