M. Isabel Smith

M. Isabel Smith, 95, of Hillsdale, passed away Friday (7-13-2012) at the Village Green Nursing Home in Hillsdale. Born December 4, 1916 in Hillsdale County MI, she was the daughter of Delos and Anna (Sitterly) Frederick. Isabel graduated from Osseo High School and was a member of the Lickley Corners Baptist Church.

On February 27, 1937 she married Voyle Smith and he preceded her in death in 1997. Survivors include 1 daughter, Beth (Mike) Vanderwalker of Jackson; 2 sons, Vincent (Judy) Smith of Hillsdale and Lauren (Vicki) Smith of Osseo; 1 sister, Marie Rose of Osseo; 12 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters, 1 brother, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 PM in Maple Grove Cemetery, Jefferson Township, with Pastor John Poole officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hillsdale County or the Lickley Corners Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements are being handled by Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading.
