Don William Jarman

February 14, 1934 - July 21, 2012

Don William Jarman, 78, of Quincy, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at his daughter’s home in Coldwater where he was surrounded by his family. He was born February 14, 1934 in Riggsville MI, the son of Vernon and Helena (Wester) Jarman. He graduated from Pellston High School and served in the US Navy from 1952 – 1956. Don was a police officer in Grand Rapids from 1957 – 1962. Moving to the Quincy area, he became a farmer and a member of the Quincy Union Church, the NRA, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, gardening, and working on his farm.

Survivors include his wife, Marcia (Bellville) Jarman, whom he married May 27, 1955;
2 daughters, Karen (Lawrence) Nesseth of Hartsville SC; Linda (Mike) Fronczak of Coldwater MI; 1 son, Robert (Doris) Jarman of Brimley MI; 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Violet Hall of Texas; Joyce (Al) Parris of Rogers City MI; Helen (Alton) Buck of Indiana; Maybel Williams and Joanne Ostwald, both of Cheboygan MI; 6 brothers, William (Ila) Jarman of Cheboygan MI; Dale (Lola) Jarman of Sault Ste Marie MI; Louis (Judy) Jarman of Fackler AL; Edward (Dee) Jarman of Joliet IL; Thomas (Linda) Jarman of Sims NC; David (Theann) Jarman of East Lansing MI. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Andrew Jarman.

Visitation is scheduled Monday, from 1-3 PM at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel, Quincy, where funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Jacob Fronczak officiating. Burial in Oaklawn Chapel Garden, Sault Ste Marie MI will be Thursday at 2:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Quincy Union Church.

Uncle Don has gone where we all long to be. He is seeing and speaking to the One we all long to see. We miss him here, but we will see him again. What a special Uncle he is! He was a godly, wise, and faithful man. I have many wonderful memories of farming, and haying! . Thank you for sharing your life with me!

Aunt Marcia, Karen, Linda, Bob and your families,
I wish I could have been with you all for the services but I'm so glad I was able to see Uncle Don before the Lord took him home. What a blessing it was to see his loving family around him. I have nothing but good memories, respect and admiration for Uncle Don--what a privilege to have been part of his family and to have been impacted by his steady faith and work ethic, generosity, sense of humor and love for family, from my earliest remembrance. I pray for God's comfort for you as you miss him. What a Godly legacy he has left!

So very sorry I didn't know about Don's being with the Lord so I could attend the
visitation. Wonderful that you could all be together when the Lord came for him.

I will always remember Uncle Don as a kind man who always had a smile on his face. I really wish I could have been there for one of the summers my sisters talk about. Aunt Marcia, I'm praying for all of you during this difficult time. Love to you all, Bea.

Dear Marcia and family: Dave and I are so sad that Don passed away. He was a great man of God. He was respected and esteemed highly. He will be missed. We know we will see him again. Our sincere sympathy goes to you and all your family.

Uncle Don ....amazing man , gentle and wise, loving and kind... Your family is so tied to my youth and all of you have had a major impact on who I am.... Dan and I wish we could be with you all. I am so glad I got to spend some time with Uncle Don before he went to glory. Glad to have spent time with you all too. I will continue to pray for new grace and Mercy each day as you transition to life without Uncle Don's strength, companionship and sense of humor. He was always such a hard worker and yet made time for people and relationships. My husband remembers having a very long conversation with him at Grandpa Jarman's funeral. He is missed, but never forgotten.

Linda and Mrs. Jarman - I'm so sorry to hear about Mr. Jarman. One of the most emotional moments in my life was when my dad died and just before the funeral began I looked toward the back of the Strongs Church and saw the two of you, Linda and Marcia. Your thoughtfulness in being there caused me to cry for the first time after Dad died and still makes my eyes well up. Peace and love to you and your family; you know that Mr. Jarman has arrived home.
