Eugene Pullen

Eugene Pullen, 88, of Quincy, died Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the Laurels of Coldwater. He was born May 24, 1924 in Ann Arbor, MI to Eugene and Alice (Haynes) Pullen. A graduate of Ann Arbor High School, he lived most of his life in Washtenaw County where he worked as a butcher in an area market and later operated a lawn care service. He was also a talented carpenter and built several garages and decks. Eugene attended the Church of the Nazarene and volunteered his time at the Ann Arbor Salvation Army.

His wife, Lila May Pullen, preceded him in death in 1999. Survivors include 3 children, Joyce Culp of Ann Arbor; Janet Gillispie of Quincy; Jerry Myers of Ann Arbor; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Eugene was one of 17 children, and he outlived all but the youngest, his sister Waive Briggs of Ann Arbor. In addition to his wife, Lila, he was preceded in death by his parents and 15 siblings.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 2:00 PM, at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel, Reading, with Pastor Dennis Haarer officiating. Visitation is scheduled Tuesday from 12:00 noon until time of service. Interment in Lodi Plains Cemetery will be at a later date.
