Evelyn Naomia Kulow

Evelyn Naomia Kulow, 84, of Hillsdale, passed away Thursday (8-09-12) at Drews PlaceVillage Green in Hillsdale. She was born March 13, 1928 in Reading, MI to Charles and Iva (Jenkins) Wagner and graduated from Montgomery High School. Evelyn was a homemaker, waitress and former owner of Kasy’s of Hillsdale. She was also a former member of the Reading American Legion Post #360 Auxiliary and Reading VFW. Evelyn was a great seamstress and enjoyed making all the clothing for her children. She also liked playing cards and dancing.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Linda Freed of Hillsdale; Naomia Hyatt of Reading; Christine Vasquez of Hillsdale; 1 son, Charles (Karen) Kulow of Allen; 1 sister, Pauline (Donald) McConnell of Fremont IN; 5 grandchildren, Michelle Welch; Amy Broxholm; Cathrine Preuss; Nelson Hyatt; Kelly Pavey; and 6 great-grandchildren, Courtney; Baily; Cameron; Sadie; Deidra; and Kendall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Rex and Max Myers; 2 grandsons (Richey and Jeffey Freed); 2 sons-in-law, Charles Freed and Larry Hyatt; and her special friend, Orson Jackson.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 25th, at Berg Cemetery in Montgomery with Reverend Alan Fenstermaker officiating. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hillsdale County or a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading.
