Lewis Dale Spieth

Lewis Dale Spieth, 84, formerly of Frontier, passed away Monday (8-13-12) at the Laurels of Coldwater. He was born January 13, 1928 in Hillsdale County, MI to Forest and Elsie (Sowle) Spieth. Lewis served in the US Army at the end of WWII and retired from Clark Equipment Company. He also worked at the Merchant’s Building at the Hillsdale County Fair for 50 years and enjoyed camping and working on cars.

Survivors include 3 sons, James (Bernie) Spieth of Hillsdale; Ronald (Sharon) Spieth of Litchfield; Robert (Margaret) Spieth of Allen; 1 sister, Judy Lake of Coldwater; 1 brother, Laverne (Geraldine) Spieth of Litchfield; 24 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife (Phyllis), 2 sons (Randy & Rick Spieth), 1 daughter (Kay Stump), and 1 grandson (Corey Stump).

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1:00 PM, at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel, Reading, with Reverend Clyde Wonders officiating. Visitation is scheduled Thursday from 11:00 AM until time of service. Interment in Frontier Cemetery will be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to his family.
