Joan E. Maxson Rodesiler

February 27, 1934 - February 10, 2017

Joan E. Maxson Rodesiler, 82, of Hillsdale, passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 at Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. She was born February 27, 1934 in Winameg, Ohio to Kenneth and Margaret (Dunbar) Balser. Joan was married to Glenn Maxson and he preceded her in death. She later married James E. Rodesiler on September 14, 1990 and he preceded her in death on January 25, 2017.

Joan attended Adrian High School and she worked at the Hillsdale Golf and Country Club for 13 years. She enjoyed wintering in Punta Gorda, Florida, golfing, dancing, listening to music and roller skating. Joan was a member of the Elks, Eagles, Moose Lodge, VFW and American Legion. She dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin (Brenda) Maxson of Pioneer and Kurt (Carol) Maxson of Hudson; six grandchildren, Phillip (Tia) Maxson, Lacey (Chad) Gibler, Nicholas Maxson, Mark Burkhart, Jennifer Lambert and Mike (DeeAnna) Burkhart; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Eloise Mohr of Adrian; two step-children, April Rodesiler of Williamsburg, Kentucky and James (Margaret) Rodesiler of Addison and son-in-law, Frank Coy of Ney, Ohio.

In addition to her husbands, Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Coy and brother, Gary Rodgers.

Funeral services for Joan Rodesiler will be Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 3:00 PM at VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Pastor Doug Plunkett officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery in Hillsdale. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
