Mahlon Jay Keller
April 4, 1947 - April 2, 2017
Mahlon Jay Keller, 69, of Morenci passed away early Sunday morning, April 2, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. He was born April 4, 1947, in Hudson, Michigan to Oliver and Betty J. (Taylor) Keller.
He married the love of his life, Kay M. Spooner, on December 21, 1968, in Morenci, and they shared 48 happy years of marriage.
Mahlon Jay was a graduate of Morenci High School, Class of 1965, and retired from Sauder Woodworking in Archbold, Ohio in 2010, with over ten years of service. He enjoyed working on cars, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, gardening and stained glass artwork. He was a very kind and generous man and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.
Surviving Mahlon Jay besides his wife, Kay are three daughters, Marci Keller of Morenci, Molly Keller of Adrian and Megan (Jeffrey) McVay of Clayton; two sisters, Jeanette (Albert) Sallows of Morenci and Marilyn Bragg of Arizona; three grandsons, Noah Jay Keller, Colton Jay and Grady Floyd McVay.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Mary J. Keller in infancy and one sister, Audrey J. Ferguson.
A funeral service for Mahlon Jay will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Morenci with Pastor Christy Shaw officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.
