Loren Dean Johnson

Loren Dean Johnson, 77, of Adrian, died Wednesday afternoon, April 5, 2017, at the Hospice of Lenawee Home in Adrian. He was born July 7, 1939, in Adrian, to the late Ernie and Adeline (Pieplow) Johnson.
Loren grew up in Morenci where he later raised his family. He was employed as an inspector for American Chain and Cable. Loren was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and loved to dance, and belonged to the Glass City Singles dance club in Toledo, OH. He was also an involved member of the Adrian Eagles.
Surviving are two daughters, Julie (Mark) Borton of Wauseon, OH and Kim (Tim) Nortley of Morenci; three brothers, Allen Johnson of St. Joseph, MI, Larry (Peggy) Johnson of Hudson, and Ken (Joyce) Johnson of Sand Creek; six sisters, Virginia MacGeorge of Adrian, Marlene (Doug) Livingston of Adrian, Karen (Keith) Arquette of Blissfield, Eileen (Delmer) Cadoo of Hudson, Marilyn Bryant of Morenci and Janet (Gary) Walter of Adrian; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Elaine (William) Smith; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard (Ilah) Johnson; and a brother-in-law, Robert MacGeorge.
A funeral service for Loren will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Morenci with Loren’s grandson Pastor Michael Borton officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday afternoon, from 4-8 p.m.
Memorial contributions in honor of Loren can be made to Hospice of Lenawee or a charity of the donor’s choice.
