Laurie Ann Goodman

April 16, 1960 - April 11, 2017

Laurie Ann Goodman, 56, of Edon, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, with her husband at her side. She was the youngest of 4 siblings, born on April 16, 1960 in Hillsdale to Wayne A. and Betty J. (Knapp) Clevenger. She graduated from Camden-Frontier Schools in 1978. On September 16, 1978 Laurie married Bud Alan Goodman and he survives.

Surviving besides her husband Bud Alan Goodman are son, Tyler Goodman of Hillsdale; sister, Connie Mailahn of Camden and brothers, Steve (Donna) Clevenger of Hillsdale and Greg (Tammy) Clevenger of Camden. Also surviving is mother-in-law, Roberta Day of Osseo, sisters-in-law, Lisa Day of Osseo, Karen Humphries of Osseo, Brenda Baker of Flint and brother-in-law, Gordon LeFevre of Hillsdale.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Logan Wayne Goodman.

Laurie was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary in Northwest Township and the Camden Missionary Church. She was also very active in the Grief Share program at the church where she helped others with the loss of their loved ones. She was very active in the fire department activities, including getting up very early to help prepare meals for the fire fighters who had been out on calls. She loved taking pictures and enjoyed sharing her talent with friends and family. She gave the greatest gift to others- her time and love. She was a great helper to others, donating time to those in need, helping with Lifelines food pantry, providing meals to shut-ins, sitting with loved one’s family members so that they could go to an appointment, took people to doctor’s visits, and was always available in times of need. She was an exceptional aunt to all of her nieces and nephews; she took time with each of them, made them feel special, and was always very nurturing. Laurie was a stay at home mother for many years after the boys were born and always active in her children’s lives. She was a wonderful wife who worked alongside her husband in their chimney business. When the boys were older, she worked again as a dental assistant, but her main focus was always on her family.

Laurie was always sharing her faith with others and would want her life to be a light to others. This was evident in all that she did. She had a servant’s heart. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her smile and laugh.
