Robert A. Hodge
June 18, 1932 - June 10, 2017
Robert A. Hodge, 84, of Pittsford, died early Saturday evening, June 10, 2017, at home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Hospice of Lenawee, following a battle with cancer. He was born June 18, 1932, in Ann Arbor, MI the son of Robert William and Florence (Leverett) Hodge. He married Shirley J. Pratt on October 8, 1955, in Ann Arbor and she preceded him in death.
Bob was a lifelong farmer, a machinist by trade and a 1951, graduate of Pioneer High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, was a member of N.R.A. and A.M.A and his hobbies included motorcycles, gas engines, antiques and reading. He was a kind and generous man that dearly loved his family and will be greatly missed by all.
Surviving Bob is a daughter, Kathryn (Dan) Bacon of Pittsford, three sons, Douglas (Sheryl) Hodge of Hillsdale, Dale Hodge and Bonnie Schuette of Osseo and Dean Hodge of Jerome; six grandchildren, Nicole R. (Eric) Violette, Dayna Bacon, Aaron Hodge, Jeffrey Graham, Erin Graham and Alecia Hodge; three great grandchildren, Veronica Violette, Audrey and Erica Gustley; five sisters and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister and a great grandson Leroy Beals.
At Bob’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation or services. A private gathering for family and friends will be at a later date. Local arrangements were entrusted to Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.
