Marylene D. Friedhoff, 74, of Fayette, died Saturday afternoon, July 8, 2017, surrounded by her loving family while in the comfort of her home. She was born March 1, 1943, to Robert and Dorthea (Dishong) Osenbaugh. On June 3, 1961, she married Clair Friedhoff in Findlay, Ohio. He survives.
A graduate of Leipsic High School, Marylene worked for nearly 20 years at La Choy in Archbold before taking time off to care for her mother. Later she worked at Kaiser’s Supermarket and Sterling Food Store in Fayette. Marylene enjoyed reading, as well crafts and crocheting. She was skilled at needlework and, in the early years of her marriage, sewed many of her daughters’ clothes.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 56 years, Clair, are three daughters, Daun (Sean Pettit) Musser of Bryan; Lisa (Miguel) Rodriguez of Fayette; and Kelly (Robert) Snyder of Bryan; a sister, Shirley (Don) Schortgen of Chestnutridge, MO; six grandchildren, Nichole, Josh, Justin, Jason, Klay and Britt; and six great-grandchildren, Conor, Gabby, Brynn, Nayah, Jayden, and Camden.
In addition to her parents, Marylene was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Osenbaugh.
A funeral service for Marylene will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette with Pastor Paul Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. and also for an hour before the service on Wednesday, beginning at noon.
Memorial contributions in honor of Marylene may be made to Gorham-Fayette Fire Department or the Fayette Church of the Nazarene.
