Leona Phyllis Ehl
December 4, 1919 - July 19, 2017
It is with great sadness that the family of Leona Phyllis Ehl announces her passing on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in Jackson, at the age of 97. Leona was born on December 4, 1919 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, daughter of Phillip and Frances (Crippen) Watling. She graduated from Ypsilanti High School. Leona married Raymond H. Ehl on March 30. 1940. He preceded her in death in 1987. A sister, Doris Miller also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara (David) Ray and Nancy Bennett, both of Jackson, three grandchildren, Elaine (Joel) Strader of Jackson, Mark (Thelma) Bennett of Buford, Georgia, and Matthew (Rebekah) Bennett of Houston, Texas, and four great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Camden, Jacob and Marisol.
Leona and Ray spent many years in Quincy, where they owned the R&L 5 to $1.00 Store. After the store was sold, she worked as office manager for the Department of Social Services in Coldwater. They were longtime members of the Quincy United Methodist Church. Leona has been a life member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Services are scheduled for Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Quincy United Methodist Church, 32 W. Chicago Street, Quincy Michigan. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM with funeral service beginning at 11. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy.
Funeral arrangements are being provided by Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy
Memorial donations may be made to the Quincy United Methodist Church or to the Humane Society of Branch County
