Debra Lee Strang-Rogers
August 20, 1955 - August 26, 2017
Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Sister
Debra Lee Strang-Rogers, age 62 of Quincy, MI was called to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at home after a brief, courageous battle with cancer. Deb was born August 20, 1955, the daughter of the late Harold and Betty (Sager) Strang.
On October 21, 1972, Deb married the love of her life, Ronald L. Rogers. They raised three children: Brian, Stacy, and Corey. After Deb graduated from Quincy High School in 1974, she and Ron remained in Quincy to raise their family and have remained ever since, including at the current farm house for the past 27 years. She very much enjoyed spending time on the farm and in the woods with her family.
Family was definitely Deb’s passion and delight. Being one of seven children (5 biological and two step), she very much enjoyed being part of a very large family. When it came to her five grandchildren: Carson 15, Aiden 12, Collin 12, Dylan 10, and Charlie 2, nothing in this world was more enjoyable than spending time with them, traveling with them, and watching them play sports.
Deb’s incredible passion for her family, led her to keep detailed scrapbooking records of her three children and five grandchildren. Not one single event or milestone was ever overlooked. She also took this passion into discovering her ancestry through extensive research in her genealogy records of not only her side of the family, but also her husband’s side of the family.
Deb is survived by her husband Ron Rogers of Quincy, son Brian (Kim) Rogers of Spring Arbor, daughter Stacy (Jason) Laney of Jonesville, son Corey (Laina) Rogers of Jonesville, and grandsons Carson Laney, Aiden Rogers, Collin Laney, Dylan Rogers, and Charlie Rogers. Also surviving is her step-mom Marian Strang of Quincy, sister Connie (Ken) Hollenbeck of Litchfield, sister Mickey (Tim) Green of Litchfield, sister Cindy (Fred) Kochendorfer of Allen, sister Angie (Tim) Brewer of Quincy, step-brother Tom (Sarah) Taylor of Quincy, and step-sister Mary Ann (Rick) Nickerson of Allen. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Betty Strang.
Deb requested a private memorial service and cremation were her wishes. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her illness. Donations may be made to the Quincy Public Library, 11 North Main Street, Quincy, MI, 49082, 517-639-4001.
