Verina O. Coward

Verina O. Coward, 82, of Quincy went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in Indiana. She was born July 11, 1935 in Sutersville, Pennsylvania, to Joseph Bossi and Mary (Macheska) Jenkie. Verina spent her childhood between Pennsylvania and Detroit. She married Robert E. Coward on March 9, 1956 and he preceded her in death in 1994.

In 1955 Verina asked Jesus to be her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Pine Ridge Bible Church since February 1970 and was an active leader in Awana and vacation bible school from 1966-2008 and also served as a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed singing, reading the bible daily and being a homemaker. She also had been an active member of the Republican Party of Branch County.

Verina is survived by her daughter, Rhoda Ann (Kim O) Boys of Richmond, Virginia; Sons, Robert Clayton Coward and John Clinton Coward both of Quincy; grandchildren, Robert Owen Boys, Heather Kaylann Boys and Matthew Charles Boys; sister-in-law, Karin E. Bossi of Clarksville, Tennesse and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Robert, Verina was preceded in death by her parents; brother Joseph Bossi and brother-in-law’s and sister-in-law’s.

A Celebration of Life for Verina O. Coward will be Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Pine Ridge Bible Church with Reverend Rick Nohr officiating. Interment will follow in Fisher Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday at 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
