Weultha "Wanda" Ter Doest

Weultha “Wanda” Ter Doest, 81, of Posey Lake, rural Hudson, died Sunday evening, October 1, 2017, at the Hospice of Lenawee Home in Adrian, MI. Born March 11, 1936, in Kimper KY, she was the daughter of the late Rush and Betty Lou (Justice) Ratliff.
Wanda lived her early life in Toledo, OH, where she graduated from the former Libbey High School with the Class of 1955. Toledo is also where she met and married the love of her life, Richard Ter Doest, and they were wed on February 6, 1960. She was a 20-year employee of DeVilbiss Manufacturing in Toledo, retiring in 1989. After moving to Lenawee County, she worked for 15 years at the Adrian Meijer store.
Wanda is remembered for her talent of painting; her servant heart as a volunteer for Hospice of Lenawee and the Meals on Wheels program in Hudson; and her joy of being in the company of her beloved family. She also enjoyed playing Bunco, and belonged to a Bunco Club with many of her lady friends from high school. Catholic by faith, Wanda was a parishioner of St. Mary on the Lake Catholic Church in Manitou Beach.
Surviving in addition to her loving husband of 57 years, Richard, are two sons, Michael (Christina) Ter Doest of Lake Worth, FL and Tim Ter Doest (and Belinda Lolley) of Adrian; brother, Tracy Ratliff of Swanton, OH; two half-sisters, Phyllis Ratliff and Nell Coleman of Kimper, KY;four grandchildren, Christopher (Kara) Ter Doest, Brian Ter Doest, Andrew Ter Doest, and Raquel (David) Bork; three great-grandchildren, Riley, Mason, and David Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass for the soul of Wanda will be offered on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary on the Lake Catholic Church in Manitou Beach with Father Joseph Krupp serving as celebrant. Interment will take place at a later date in the Calvary Cemetery in Hudson. The family will gather to receive friends for visitation for an hour preceding the service at the church, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Arrangements were handled by the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.
Memorial contributions can be made in Weultha’s name to St. Mary’s on the Lake Catholic Church or Hospice of Lenawee.
