Mark R. Cole

Mark R. Cole, 53, of Jackson, died unexpectedly of natural causes Monday, November 29, 2017, at his residence. He was born in Hudson on February 26, 1964, to James A. Cole and Elizabeth “Pat” Kelly. He was a 1982 graduate of Blissfield High School and attended both Ferris State and Jackson Community College. He married Christina Messner on December 1, 1989, and she survives.
He previously worked as an instructor of interior construction at Jackson Career Center for over nineteen years. A lover of music, Mark was a member of several bands throughout his music career, including Raven, Moses, Black Masquerade, and PC Solutions Band. He also built many custom guitars.
Surviving to mourn his sudden loss are his wife, Christina; parents, Elizabeth “Pat” Hart of Manitou Beach and James A. (Martha) Cole of Adrian; two children, Alex Cole of Jackson and Lindsey Cole (James Smith) of Frankfort, IN; three sisters, Lissa Cole of FL, Rebecca Cole of Manitou Beach and Ellen (Russell) Luck of Tipton; a brother, David Cole of Mesa, AZ; three grandchildren, Parker Alan, Paisley Annalynn, and Paxton Liam; half-sisters, Gina (James) Helms of WV and Jamie (Kirk) Stubbs of Britton, MI; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companion, Javier.
A funeral mass for the soul of Mark Cole will be celebrated on Saturday,December 2, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary on the Lake Catholic Church in Manitou Beach with Father Joseph Krupp presiding. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until the mass.
Interment will take place in the Calvary Cemetery in Hudson at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in honor of Mark be designated to the family who will establish an education fund to benefit his grandchildren.
