Roger O. McNett
March 20, 1949 - February 12, 2018
Roger O. McNett, 68, of Clayton, died early Monday morning, February 12, 2018, at the Hospice of Lenawee Home in Adrian. Born in Adrian on March 20, 1949, he was the son of the late Audrey (Turner) and Robert McNett Sr. He married the love of his life, Linda M. Grant on July 13, 1968, and she survives. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this July.
He was a 1967 graduate of Hudson Area Schools, employed as a tool and die maker, served as a Boy Scout Leader in Adrian and was a man of faith that enjoyed reading and studying scripture. After retirement he enjoyed custom woodworking, especially making cedar chests for his granddaughter and nieces; other hobbies included small and large engine repair, taxi driver for the Amish and received many awards for speed shooting pistols.
In addition to his wife of over 49 years, Linda, he is survived by three sons, William McNett of Adrian, Nathan (Samantha) McNett of Hudson, and Joshua McNett and Kelly Neuenschwander of Adrian; two brothers, Robert (Linda) McNett Jr. of Hudson and Chuck (Denise) McNett of Clayton; nine grandchildren, LaTeisha (Jason Hibbs) McNett, Avery, Natalie and Cameron Dickerson, Austin Pitock, Sarah McMillan, Corbin McNett, Derek Windish and Jaxon McNett; two great grandchildren, Allizelle McNett and Jaylah Hibbs; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Gayle, and Timothy McNett.
A funeral service for Roger will be held Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Darren Lemmon officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date in the Medina Cemetery.
