Paul J. Rynn

Paul J. Rynn, 83, of Hillsdale and formerly of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the Laurels of Coldwater. He was born May 23, 1934 in Toledo to John and Gertrude (Wahlen) Rynn. Paul married Kathryn Farkas on September 12, 1953 and she survives.
Paul graduated from Libby High School in Toledo and he served his country in the United States Navy Reserve for 20 years. While employed at Doehler-Jarvis Company, he completed his union apprenticeship and received his tool and die maker journeyman card. For nearly 30 years, Paul owned and operated Rynn's Die and Mold in Toledo. He was a member of the Pittsford Lions Club and Jefferson Township Zoning Board. While living in Toledo, he was an active member and mentor of St. James Catholic Church CYO. Paul was an avid golfer who enjoyed golfing in many leagues and teaching his grandchildren to golf. Paul and Kathy also enjoyed many winters together in Bradenton, Florida.
In addition to his wife of nearly 65 years, Kathy Rynn, Paul is survived by six children, Chris (Karen) Rynn of Rossford, Ohio, Paula (Paul) Taylor of Kenton, Ohio, Rebecca Rynn of Maumee, Ohio, Jennifer (Jeff) Tolles of Toledo, Patrick Rynn of San Diego, California and Amy (Steve) Krieg of Toledo; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Patricia, Elizabeth, Jack and Kathleen.
A memorial visitation for Paul Rynn will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 1:00-5:00 P.M. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale, Michigan. Private family interment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Jefferson Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Heartland Hospice or Shiners Hospitals for Children.
