Thure V. Sjoquist

Thure V. Sjoquist, 93, of Osseo, Michigan passed away Friday, April 13, 2018, at Hillside Country Living in Bryan, Ohio. He was born in Isanti County, Minnesota, to the late Oscar and Anna (Lundberg) Sjoquist.

Thure attended rural Princeton schools and graduated from Princeton High School Class of 1943, and also attended Minneapolis Business College and Angsburg College in Minnesota. He served as a rifleman 745 for the U.S. Army during WWII and was wounded in action in France in 1945; therefore, was a recipient of the Purple Heart Award. He was an accountant for most of his life but his passion was being a flower designer for many years for local flower shops and putting on programs and demonstrations for Garden Clubs in Hillsdale and Williams Counties. He was also a member of Hillsdale County Farm Bureau, life member of Disabled American Veterans and member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hillsdale where he served as treasurer for many years and florist for over 25 years.

Thure is survived by many nieces, nephews and Michigan and Ohio families.

At Thure’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. Interment of remains will be in the Sjoquist family plot in Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Dalbo, Minnesota at a later date. Local arrangements were entrusted to Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.
