Larry Lynn Van Aken

Larry Lynn Van Aken, 78, of Montgomery, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital. He was born April 2, 1940 in Hillsdale to Rex and Joyce (Holly) Van Aken. Larry married Ruth Smith on October 20, 1958 and she survives.
He was a 1958 graduate of Camden Frontier High School and was a member on the 1957 Camden Frontier cross country team that made it to state. Larry was a Camden Jaycee’s member and was active at South Woodbridge Pentecostal Church of God, where he served on the board. He enjoyed antique cars, clocks and watches.
In addition to his wife, Ruth, Larry is survived by sons, Michael (Jo Ann) Van Aken of Garrett and David (Chandra) Van Aken of Fremont; son-in-law, Steven Hornbrook of Angola; sister, Beverly (Jerry) Hukill of Hillsdale; brothers, Robert (Sally) Van Aken of Montgomery, Dennis and Mark Van Aken both of Camden; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Janet Hornbrook and grandson, Andrew.
Funeral services for Larry Lynn Van Aken will be Friday, April 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the South Woodbridge Pentecostal Church of God with Pastor Jim Hibbard officiating. Interment will follow in Woodbridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the South Woodbridge Pentecostal Church or to the family.
