Jesse L. Munger

Jesse L. Munger, age 90, of Jonesville, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018 at home. He was born July 30, 1927 in Coldwater to Roy and Sadie (Wilson) Munger. Jesse married Gladys VanBuskirk on October 24, 1949 and she survives.
Jesse graduated from Camden High School in 1945 and he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the American Occupation of Germany. He drove truck for nearly 40 years and retired from Murphy Motor Freight. Jesse attended Pittsford Wesleyan Church and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jesse was also an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
In addition to his wife of 68 years, Gladys Munger, Jess is survived by two daughters, Kathleen (Alan) Buehrer and Rebecca (Roger) Lamb both of Jonesville; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Ellen Stickney and brother, Eugene Munger.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Vickie Munger; son, Donald Munger and four brothers, William, Durward, Paul and Richard Munger.
Memorial services for Jesse Munger will be Friday, June 8, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Pittsford Wesleyan Church with Pastor Doug Plunkett officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Eagle Funeral Home in Jonesville.
